The conference will include the participation of various specialists and the representatives of European institutions such as the European Commission, the European Medicines Agency, and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) of the European Parliament, along with representatives of Portuguese institutions such as Infarmed, the national medicines authority. The goal of this initiative – which will take place in virtual format on 29 and 30 April – is to define the priorities for concrete action that can better and more effectively promote access to medicines and medical devices throughout the European Union.

This conference will focus on essential topics on the agenda of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union Council, in particular the pillars “availability, accessibility and affordability” of medicines and medical devices and will aim to foster discussion among the main drivers of European pharmaceutical policy. The Health Minister, Marta Temido, will be chairing the opening session of the 3As Conference Conference “Availability, Accessibility, Affordability of Medicines & Medical Devices” at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon, on Thursday, 29 April, at 8h30 (Lisbon time).
